Oscar Dufour

After a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Paris, Oscar completed a master’s degree in the physics of complex systems: the first year was spent at the SISSA and ICTP research centers in Trieste (Italy), and then at the Polytechnic of Turin, the second year was spent between the Sorbonne University and the University of Paris. Interested in the study of behavior at the individual and collective levels, he worked for a year at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris as a research engineer. In particular, he developed a model of cognitive bias in decision making in risky tasks. Being also curious about questions related to the emergence of collective states from the aggregation of individual decisions, he then started a PhD about crowd dynamics at the Institute of Light and Matter in Lyon, France.
